Arab Chaos, Western Weakness and Iran’s Upper Hand
Join VOI's Melanie Phillips, as she discusses the situation in the Middle East with an impressive list of guests.
First, Jordanian opposition activist Mudar Zahran says that Jordanian King Abdullah II's days are numbered; that he will be replaced by the Muslim Brotherhood Islamists he has partnered; and that to avoid this disaster, Israel and the Jewish world must wake up and smell the Jordanian coffee.
Then, Simon Henderson of the Washington Institute for Near East Policy says that, despite many worrying factors, Saudi Arabia remains a useful ally to the West.
Then, Dr. Emily Landau of Tel Aviv's Institute for National Security Studies asserts that Iran has the upper hand over the US, because the P5+1 negotiators have fatally shown themselves desperate for a deal.
Finally, as the world recoils in horror from the Islamic State burning alive of a Jordanian hostage, Phillips ponders the absurdity of Western explanations for such barbarism, and concludes that as long as the West denies the Islamic roots of such deeds, it will lose the war for civilization.
