Sokol reports that JAFI head Natan Sharansky informed Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of this controversial move, following claims that project decisions were being monopolized by Israel’s Ministry of Diaspora Affairs, currently headed by Minister Naftali Bennett. Sokol says it will be interesting to see the response of Jewish organizations abroad, and whether the billion-shekel program to bolster Jewish identity will be salvaged. listen now
