Rejuvenation with Eve Harow

Afarsimon Oil's Return to the Land of Israel, and Tevel B'Tzedek's Taking Its Compassion to Nepal

3 May 2023

VOI's Eve Harow is joined by former journalist Guy Ehrlich, who grows the ancient "afarsimon" (persimmon) plant in the Jordan Valley, which led to his becoming an expert on the incense and oils of the Temple. He says that the persimmon plant, thought extinct, is back in the land of Israel, like the Jews.

Then, Eve is joined by Tevel B'Tzedek founder Rabbi Micha Odenheimer, who talks about his organization's around-the-clock work in Nepal to aid those devastated by the earthquake. He explains how this -- like other of his many ventures in journalism and social justice -- brings the Jewish ideas of his spiritual mentors to life.
