Judy Lash Balint is joined by war hero Murray Greenfield, whose late wife is memorialized at the Terezin Ghetto Museum.
Murray is a US-born veteran Israeli who served in the Machal unit of volunteers from abroad who fought in Israel’s War of Independence in 1948. A few years later, he married Hana, a native of Czechoslovakia who survived the Nazi camps and notorious death march to Bergen-Belsen — and moved to Israel, dedicating her life to writing and teaching about the Holocaust. Murray recounts the recent ceremony at the Terezin Ghetto Museum, where literary and art competitions set up decades ago by Hana have now been named the Hana Greenfield Memorial. listen now
