Tolerance of the Oldest Hatred
21 May 2023The accusation of "apartheid" was leveled at Israel again this week.
This happened when Defense Minister Moshe Ya'alon weighed limiting Palestinian travel on Israeli buses into Israel. VOI's Daniel Seaman and Daniela Traub are joined in-studio by South African native and Israel advocate Rolene Marks, who spells out the fallacy of apartheid comparison, and why they diminish the uniqueness of the struggle in South Africa. She describes the states of South African Jewry today; how things have deteriorated since the passing of Nelson Mandela; why the BDS movement originated there; and why it is that while crediting themselves with being progressive, South Africans still tolerate anti-Semitism. She also offers advice to supporters of Israel on how to fight back in an atmosphere of absolute intimidation.
