Digitized Declaration: Israel's Scroll of Independence Preserved for Future Generations

In a rare event, the Declaration of Independence emerged from the Israel State Archives this week. Archivists plan to photograph the Declaration using the same advanced digital technology employed used to capture hi-resolution images of the Dead Sea Scrolls. Researchers believe the images will provide important information about the Declaration's parchment and ink that will aid them in their efforts to preserve the scroll for future generations.
