Silencing Justice: The Murder of Alberto Nisman

29 January 2023

Alberto Nisman, the lead prosecutor who had been investigating Iran's role in the 1994 Hezbollah bombing of a Jewish center of Buenos Aires, was found dead in his bathroom, with a bullet fired into his head. Nisman died a day before he was scheduled to present a 289-page report to parliament charging that Argentina’s President Cristina Kirchner had tried to shield Iran, long believed responsible for the attack. Professor Gustavo Perednik, a friend of Nisman's, recalls to VOI's Yishai Fleisher the prosecutor's courage in accusing both Iranian and Argentinian officials of terror. Jeremy Saltan tells Yishai about Argentina's history of shielding Nazis and terrorists.
