'The Jerusalem Burial Society Oversteps; the IDF Doesn't Go Far Enough'

The Chevra Kadisha of Jerusalem refused to bury an infant, instead returning him to his family in a cardboard box. VOI's Mottle Wolfe says that this is yet another example of the problem with the state placing rabbinic authority in the hands of the ultra-Orthodox. He discusses alternatives with Elad Caplan, the legal advocate for ITIM, an organization trying to reform the system.

Then, Mottle speaks with Willy Stern of Vanderbilt Law School, whose article in next week's Weekly Standard details what he discovered while spending two weeks with attorneys in the IDF's international law department.
