In this, the second segment of a two-part interview, Anna Wexler, co-creator (with Nadja Oetelt) of the film "Unorthodox," joins VOI's Mottle Wolfe in-studio to tell her story. At 16, she severed relations with her Orthodox Jewish community in New Jersey, rejecting its religious doctrine and social restrictions. She ran away from home, slept on the streets and experimented with sex and drugs, along with friends who had also left the Orthodox world. However, after spending a gap-year in Israel, these friends had a change of heart and returned to the fold. Listen to Anna's journey, which led to her spending nine years making a movie about this complex issue.
