Penina Shore, Professor Brent Seales and archaeologist Dani Mali share their excitement over an astounding find with Ari Abramowitz and Jeremy Gimpel.
Penina Shore of the Israel Antiquities Authority tells Ari and Jeremy about the ancient burnt scroll of the Book of Leviticus found at Ein Gedi — the oldest Torah scroll ever discovered. Professor Brent Seales of the University of Kentucky joins in to explain how, with the help of state-of-the art scanning technology, his team was able to decode what was written on the scroll. Finally, Israeli archaeologist Dani Mali recounts his personal experiences excavating in Jerusalem, and about the significance of this particular discovery in Israel.
