Designer Duds for Devout Dudes(12:30)
|
'Jerusalem Design' co-founder Chezi Spero tells VOI's Eve Harow about the connection between haute couture and Torah.
Spero, a lawyer-turned-interior designer, was recently featured in an Israeli magazine as one of a new generation of religious men who wear designer clothes. He explains the concept of “dressing for success,” and how dressing as stylishly as one can afford (in his case, this means owning, for example, 50 ties and monogrammed shirts, 13 pairs of designer shoes and seven pairs of eyeglasses) is both a professional statement and respectful of a Torah way of life. He says that appearance can make all the difference in how one is perceived.
