Gil Hoffman hears from Touro College political science dept. chairman David Luchins, who reveals how the convicted spy was almost freed 22 years ago.
Luchins, who served for 20 years on the staff of Democratic Senator of New York Daniel Patrick Moynihan, says Jonathan Pollard has been in jail way too long, and it would have been cruel and unusual punishment to keep him there even longer. Critical of past efforts to bring Pollard home, Luchins also says Israelis should have more gratitude for US President Barack Obama, and proscribes what needs to be done to improve relations between Israel and US Democrats.
