Ehud Gol: 'Don't Panic; Israel Has Many Friends'

For the past several days, stories of confusion in the Foreign Ministry over its role in the new government have emerged. former ambassador Ehud Gol tells VOI's Daniel Seaman -- filling in for Gil Hoffman -- that there is "no need to panic."
Gol, a 50-year veteran of Israel's diplomatic service and author, talks about the subject of his recently released book, "Profession: Diplomat," discussing the unique challenges Israeli diplomats face; whether professional diplomats are necessary; how the role of the diplomat has evolved; and whether Israel really is isolated in the world. "Israel has many friends," he says.
