The Devil in Angel’s Clothing?

With the new Israeli government instated, the pressure is on Israel to return to the negotiating table.
VOI's Daniel Seaman and Daniela Traub discuss how the European Union is pushing for a renewal of peace talks, while making it clear to the Palestinians that they need not negotiate at all. They also raise the issue of the Vatican recognizing the "state of Palestine," with the Pope referring to PA President Mahmoud Abbas as an “angel of peace.” This, they say, constitutes an abandonment of the Christians being persecuted and murdered throughout the Middle East, as well as a "sacrificing" of Israel.
