First, VOI’s Josh Hasten rants about recent statements made by former Prime Minister Ariel Sharon confidante Dov Weisglass about the logic behind pulling out all soldiers and residents from Gush Katif in 2005. Josh doesn’t accept Weisglass’s claims that Sharon believed this move would enhance security and allow Israel to keep the large settlement blocs in Judea and Samaria.
Then, Josh hears from Canadian businessman Laurent Amram, the visionary behind the recent mega Torah scroll dedication ceremony at the Western Wall, commemorating those who fell in Operation Protective Edge. Amram says the goal of having Torahs written in their memory was to perpetuate their legacies. The Torahs are now being distributed to IDF bases and synagogues in need of holy scrolls. listen now
