Social enterprise is a for-profit business that uses the tools and strategies of the business world to promote and tackle social, environmental and cultural issues. In a unique initiative, Israel’s Ministry of Economy’s Small and Medium Business Agency launched a NIS 5 million pilot program to aid development of such an enterprise — to target disadvantaged populations.
