Immigration, Iran and Apartheid(50:39)

VOI’s Yishai Fleisher, filling in for Josh Hasten, is joined by show host Dov Lipman. In the Knesset today following the announcement of an agreement between the P5+1 and Iran, he says he was the only one beaming for joy. This is because, earlier in the day, he was at Ben Gurion Airport greeting a Nefesh B’Nefesh flight, bringing more than 200 new immigrants to Israel from North America.
Then, Yishai is joined by VOI news director Mordechai Twersky to analyze the nuclear deal. He plays clips from Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif, US President Barack Obama and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Political Correspondent Raoul Wootliff calls in from the Knesset to describe the mixed mood of despondency and defiance among its members.
Finally, Yishai is joined by South African MP Pastor Kenneth Meshoe to talk about the true meaning of apartheid. Having grown up in apartheid South Africa — and becoming the founding leader of the African Christian Democratic Party — he is an outspoken advocate for Israel. He has not only visited the country many times, but continues to argue against claims that Israel is an apartheid state, calling such accusations slanderous and deceptive.
