Harmonizing Mideast Peace(25:24)
|
Molly Livingstone hears from two musicians, an Israeli and a Palestinian, who sing praises of the organization that brought them together.
She talks to Guy Geffen and Moody Kablawi about “Heartbeat,”which serves as a space for young Israelis and Palestinians not only to create music, but to build understanding and amplify their voices to influence the world around them. She also plays a clip of them in concert, and hears their vision of a future together, one note at a time.
Then, Heartbeat founder and director Aaron Shneyer joins in from the US to explain how his Fullbright-MtvU fellowship has enabled his idea to become a reality, by providing Israelis and Arabs the opportunity to sing their hearts out, in more ways than one.
