Novelist, essayist and playwright A.B. Yehoshua discusses his post-nationalist views with VOI's Yishai Fleisher.
At a Bar Ilan Conference on the 2005 Gaza disengagement, Yehoshua stated that the Arab connection to the concept of “homeland” continues to strengthen, while Jews’ sense of the same principle weakens. He says losing such consciousness endangers the Jewish cause, before explaining why he fears a binational state and continues to support a two-state solution — even as other pragmatic Israelis begin to give up on that idea.
