‘Americans For Peace Now’ Passover Analogy: Settlements Are ‘Plagues’
|
Americans for Peace Now is calling on their supporters to "spill wine" during their Passover seders, to symbolize the "plagues facing Israel today" -- namely, the "settlements," the Jewish communities in Judea and Samaria. VOI's Josh Hasten says that referring to specific groups of Jews in this manner is beyond repugnant.
Then, Yair Solow, a volunteer organizing meals for hundreds of Israeli families who can't afford food for the Passover holiday, tells Josh about his altruistic endeavor: "Our Project," affiliated with the Ezer Metzion organization.
Finally, today (Tuesday), 81 veterans and 39 rookie lawmakers are being sworn in to Israel's 20th Knesset. The list of 120 Israeli parliament members includes 29 women and 17 Arabs. VOI Knesset insider Jeremy Saltan joins Josh to give the low-down on the ceremonious event.
