VOI's Judy Lash Balint interviews Datya Itzhaki, an activist for Gush Katif evictees, protesting outside of the President's Residence in Jerusalem.
After decades as a resident of Gush Katif, Itzhaki served as a spokesperson for the local residents before the 2005 Gaza withdrawal. Since being pulled out of their home that summer, the family — which includes three children — has moved a total of six times. Yesterday, Itzhaki and other Gush Katif evictees completed their three-day march to protest the government’s treatment of the forgotten survivors of the disengagement.
