Miracles of Life and Israel(50:29)
|
First, Ari and Jeremy discuss the Jewish philosophy that a baby is taught the entire Torah by an angel while in the womb — but is made to forget it immediately upon being born. They consider the purpose of receiving that in-utero education, if only to have it all wiped away. They also marvel at the continued thriving and growth of the Jewish nation, amidst all the chaos.
Then, Ari and Jeremy discuss the tragic acts of violence of last week: the stabbing at the Pride and Tolerance March, the subsequent death of one of the victims and the arson attack in Duma. The co-hosts look at these events through the perspective of respect for and sanctity of life — as Israel as a whole has been quick to do, standing as a beacon of humanity in a tumultuous region. Also, they debate the theory that the fire-bombing in Duma was not necessarily the work of Jewish perpetrators.
Finally, a discussion of peace on the Temple Mount and the recent discovery of the Gates of Goliath in Israel spur Ari and Jeremy to recall the story of that ancient artifact. The Gates hold an apt message of strength and faith for our times.
