VOI's Yishai Fleisher talks with Arabist Baruch Widen, and discusses former Ambassador Michael Oren's new book with analyst Michael Doran.
Widen, an interfaith dialoguer who toured Jerusalem’s Muslim Quarter with his Arabic teacher during Ramadan, describes for Yishai what he admires in Sufism and shares the mystical reading of Islam.
Then, Yishai talks to Doran — senior fellow at the Hudson Institute, former US deputy assistant secretary of defense and a former senior director of the US National Security Council — about “Ally,” Michael Oren’s new book. Oren, an MK for the Kulanu party and former Israeli ambassador to the US, caused a sensation when he revealed details of his tenure, including President Obama’s anti-Israel fixation. Doran discusses the impact of the book and whether there is any possibility of stopping the nuclear deal with Iran.
